Salonika viewed from the deck of a British battleship © IWM (Q 13626)

The Second Battalion of the East Yorkshire Regiment were in Salonika as part of the British Salonika Force. On the 28th November 1915 the battalion, along with one of my great-uncles Frederick Carney, sailed from Alexandria Egypt and then on to Salonika. They embarked on the H S Tunisian  at 10:30 a.m. and sailed at 6 pm. They arrived in Salonika on the 2nd December at 9 a.m. They disembarked on the 3rd December and marched 5 miles to Lembet Camp ( Source: War diary 2nd Bn East Yorkshire Regiment)

This is a small tribute page to the men from the 2nd Bn of the East Yorkshire regiment who lost their lives through their time spent in the Macedonian Campaign.

·This  a work in progress and I'm adding service details, awards and photos if I find them. If anyone has any details of any of the men they'd like to share, please let me know and I'll add anything to the page. Contact me at caryl487 at gmail.com
